Mike's Mission

To work with professional organizations who want their people to be fired up, fully engaged and focused on growing the business, not merely maintaining it.

Why Antarctica?

This is the most common question I hear. I asked myself the same thing in 2001 when I bought the book titled "Shackleton's Way." What I discovered is that Antarctic history stories are some of the most engaging, compelling and effective ways to illustrate business and selling principles for many reasons. The showcase story that my programs are build around is the Endurance story. In 1914, a team of 28 men led by Ernest Shackleton were the first group of men to attempt to cross the entire Antarctic continent on foot. The team became stranded for 2+ years before returning home. What they experienced in the Antarctic is much like today's business climate.

What's In It For You

Mike's programs are NOT just for cold weather fans and marathon runners. This is just the setting where the stories take place. The real value is how Mike engages people in the stories and links the drivers and principles to the world of the participants. People think in pictures not in words. The images and stories leave an indelible impression in their minds. When your people remember the pictures and stories, they also remember the points. When they remember the points, they actually use what they learned in the heat of the battle. Isn't that what really counts?

A Sample of What You'll Learn

"I HATE it when things are easy and LOVE it when things are hard." Ernest Shackleton was quoted as saying this and his life truly reflected this in many ways. What does this mean for you? Success in any world is difficult to achieve and maintain. Shackleton understood that success would only come if he changed his paradigm and definition of difficulty. For us today, chaning how we see and define difficulty can make all the differernce.

Walk the Walk

Mike is not just a fan of the Antarctic, but he has actually been there-twice, running back to back marathons and a 100km ultra marathon. In the corporate world, Mike has a 15+ year track record of selling success in the sales recruitment business. He has successfully worked with many large and small companies including FedEx, MetLife, IBM, Go Wireless, Nordstrom, and countless others helping them to recruit, engage and retain the very best talent.
